An illegal immigrant was among four people apprehended by police and council officers during a crack down on illegal drivers in Hanworth.
More than 50 people were questioned on Wednesday July 15, one untaxed vehicle was impounded and two drivers were questioned in relation to suspected benefit fraud.
The one-day event saw officers from the police, Hounslow Council's fraud office and the UK Border Agency using number-plate recognition technology to identify suspected offenders.
Feltham Community College in Browells Lane will be a hive of activity this August with loads of fun things for local kids aged 7 - 15 to do. The crew from the Friday Night Project are running lots of different sports over two weeks from Monday 10th to Friday 17th August. Basketball, Rock Climbing, Golf, Rounders and Cricket are just some of the sports kids can try. The sessions run from 1pm to 4pm every day and cost just £20 per week, per child. There is a family membership of £30. Families on benefits or low income can get financial help to take part so they don't miss out. Mike Hunter Head Coach from the Police Community Boxing club, who runs sessions on a Friday night, is also running the ever popular 'Contender Box'. So, pop along to the Sports Hall on Friday 31st July or Friday 7th August, anytime between 8pm and 10pm to enrol. You could even sign up the Friday Night Project at the same time! Feltham Rotary Club has delivered over 600 illustrated dictionaries to Year 5 children in schools throughout Feltham, Bedfont and Hanworth.
Over the last two weeks, local Rotarians visited 10 schools in the area and gave each child a dictionary to keep as part of a Rotary international literacy scheme.
