A temporary speed camera in Hanworth has been named as Britain's highest-grossing - bringing in fines of almost £1m in just six months.
16,213 motorists - which equates to more than 100 a day - were caught breaking the temporary 30mph restriction imposed on the A316 Country Way between June and November last year.
A monolithic 100ft advertising tower has turned a semi-rural part of Hanworth into Piccadilly Circus, according to residents.
The illuminated sign went up at the Dairy Crest site in Feltham Hill Road last month - almost four years after Hounslow Council refused to grant planning permission on the grounds that it would be 'intrusive' to the street scene and dangerously distracting for passing motorists on the A316.
