Hanworth man jailed for rape

The former cashier admitted turning on the girl, who is also 19, as they spent the evening of September 13 drinking vodka in his room.

The couple, who had known each other for some time, were having consensual sex when Rogers stopped to take a phone call.

The victim complained and he responded by slapping her with increasing ferocity until she passed out. He then raped her as she lay unconscious.

Acting Detective Sergeant Louise Caveen, of Hounslow CID, said: "This was a horrific attack on a woman who was in the company of a man she believed was a friend, she had gone to his home willingly and had had consensual sex with him when he turned on her, beating her about the head.

"The impact this has had on the victim cannot be under estimated, her trust was betrayed and her injuries left her needing medical aid."

A friend of Rogers then arrived at the address and told the victim to get dressed.

She left the premises and had called the police when a passer-by spotted her in a distressed state and stayed with her until the police arrived.

She was taken to hospital and treated for a head injury before being taken to a Haven Sexual Assault Referral Centre.

On Sunday, September 14, Rogers voluntarily attended Hounslow Police Station and was arrested.

He was charged on October 3 and last week pleaded guilty to both offences at Kingston Crown Court.

DS Caveen said: "I am pleased that Rogers pleaded guilty and saved the victim the added ordeal of having to give evidence at court. I hope that this conviction reassures victims of similar offences of the seriousness with which the MPS takes these crimes."
