crane-park-tower.jpgCrane Park is in the running for a £400,000 makeover if enough residents vote as part of a £6million giveaway announced by the Mayor of London.

The river valley park on the border of Hounslow and Richmond boroughs is one of 47 green spaces across the capital to make the shortlist of the Help A London Park competition.

Improvements would include river restoration works and the creation of a bridge to link banksides on both sides of the borough boundary.

New paths, bins and signs would be introduced, along with the continuation of the carved bench project, while grant will also contribute towards the funding of two new roles, Park Development Officer and Park Ranger.

The ten parks with the most votes will receive up to £400,000 over the next four years.

Boris Johnson will also choose one large park, who will also receive up to £2million.

To register your vote visit www.london.gov.uk/parksvote, go to the south west section and click on Crane Park at the top of the list.

You can also request a postal vote form by calling City Hall's Public Liaison Unit on 020 7983 4100, or text 'parks' and your post code to short code 62967.

This will automatically vote for the closest park to where you live.

We'd like to hear from you.
