Posted by Hanworth Park Safer Neighbourhood Team on Oct 17, 08 03:14 PM in Crime

35 people attended the launch meeting of the Craigwell Avenue, Sherringham Avenue and Hayling Avenue Neighbourhood Watch scheme at the Oasis Church in Feltham on Thursday evening.

Speaking at the meeting was Mr Patrick Hooper, Neighbourhood Watch committee member who explained the purpose and role of the scheme.

PCSO Javed Akhtar who arranged the event with his colleague PCSO Ron Page said, "it was encouraging to see so many people wanting to make a real difference attending this meeting. We are looking forward to strengthening the partnerships between residents at the police that have already been made".

Sergeant Darren Weston of Hanworth Park Safer Neighbourhood Team said: "Neighbourhood Watch is all about having an active partnership with the police and about creating communities who care. This is one of hopefully many new schemes that my team hope to introduce in the area. I would encourage any resident to contact their local Safer Neighbourhoods Team and ask about joining a scheme in their own area or to establish one if there aren't any".

This is exactly what we need around Rochester estate Maybe the kids wouldn't scare everyone and run the area like they do I have called my safer neighbourhood police lots of times and left messages but they never get back to me I get the impression they don't care which is why the kids think they are above the law
