Mushroom tips for food fans

Posted by Nina Rossi on Oct 6, 08 09:49 AM in What's On

Food fans who are interested in learning about which mushrooms are safe to scoff can pick up tips at a special 'fungi foray' event at Bedfont Lakes.

On Saturday, October 11, visitors will be taken round the park and shown a variety of mushrooms and toadstools, some of which are edible and others poisonous.

The fungi foray will take place from 10am-noon and start at the Information Centre by the Clockhouse Lane entrance.

The following day (October 12) rangers at Hounslow Heath will be showing visitors the way they are managing the site and restoring its heathland and meadows, including the use of cattle grazing as a conservation tool.

The event will last from 1-3pm and start at the Information Centre by the Staines Road entrance.

Everyone of any age is welcome to both events.
People should bring clothing that is suitable for possible bad weather and walking boots.

We'd like to hear from you.
